JOB TITLE PROJECT WORKER – family worker with a focus on Young People

 

SALARY

SPC 22 – 26(£22.304 – £22,987)

20 HOURS PRO RATA

3 YEAR POST WITH 6 MONTH PROBATIONARY PERIOD

JOB PURPOSE:

 

To assess needs of Kinship Families and develop a plan of action to support the family to meet their need.

To lead programmes of work with young people which enhance their skills, confidence, personal and social learning to improve the quality of their lives

To work with schools and other professionals, raise awareness of Kinship Families and provide good quality services.

 

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

 

To assess family’s needs.

Empower families to work on a solution focused plan of action to bring about change.

Regularly and professionally review plans

Deliver training.

Manage a range of activities and projects for young people

To develop positive relationships with young people, which enables learning, growth, personal and social development to widen their experiences

To have line management responsibilities for assigned staff/volunteers

To be active in recruitment of volunteers particularly from young people themselves

To produce regular reports on the outcomes of the activities/projects in respect of priorities and targets, to include the monitoring of funded services

To work to deadlines and ensure efficient day to day administration to enable effective delivery of work

GENERAL:

 

The post holder will undertake such other duties as are discussed with and agreed by the Management Committee

Achieve the highest standards of safeguarding

To work evenings and weekends as determined by projects

To develop programmes and services in line with Kinship Carers commitment to equal opportunities and to promote non-discriminatory practices in all aspects of the work undertaken
